About Me & My Approach

I am
Svetlana Vrubleuskaya, a dedicated professional with a passion for culture and behavior from the perspective of an internal control environment of organizations. My studies in criminology (2016) and a post-master's degree in Operational Auditing & Advisory (2020) have enabled me to consistently connect culture and organizational structure. I strongly believe that organizational culture and structure can reinforce each other; you just need to know which buttons to push. Ultimately, people form the core of every organization. While we think in processes, we still act in relationships.
My interest in culture and behavior began at a young age when, at the age of twelve years, I came to the Netherlands with my mother and sister from Belarus to build a life here. Growing up with two cultures shaped who I am today, and I am grateful for the knowledge and experience I gained from these diverse backgrounds. This enables me to quickly connect with a variety of different people.
Approach
I am your partner in aligning organizational structure and culture when it comes to business improvement. My goal is to help your organization grow by providing insights into the cultural and behavioral elements within it. Encouraging growth involves conducting a thorough analysis together, where factors that influence behaviors (soft controls) get the main focus. I’m passionate about translating scientific knowledge into practical tools relevant to your audit or research question.
My strength lies in creating connections by having meaningful conversations as a trainer in soft controls, and as a person. Transparency and trust are keywords that I hold in high regard. Our collaboration begins with an exploratory conversation to understand your needs. We then explore appropriate research methods and techniques together, and I provide a proposal for a project plan. This approach will be based on qualitative research, throughout emphasizing the importance of ‘best-fit-for-your organization’ through iterative dialogue and decision making.
Roles
The roles I have undertaken as an independent professional include (organizational) researcher, internal auditor, risk manager, trainer and coach of internal audit teams, guest lecturer, and quality assessor of reports.
Blogs
I regularly publish blogs on my LinkedIn page and this website about the insights and experiences I gain in my work. Please feel free to connect.

My purpose is to connect by sharing my knowledge and experience
regarding the impact of culture and behavior.
